Oh man, I haven't seen Blood+ in over four years, but I do miss it! When Stef (ChibiInuTsuzuki) posted a status on Facebook basically begging someone to be her big brother for her Blood+ group at AnimeNEXT, I was reminded that Kai was basically my favorite character in the show, and immediately volunteered. It was so oddly nostalgic, cosplaying one of my teenage 2-D crushes with such a complete group. Makes me so happy!

Ready-made cosplay. Sorry. xD I consider that to be different than closet cosplay, btw, in that I didn't use what I already had; I deliberately sought out accurate pieces through shopping. I happened to find a tannish-orange wifebeater AND white buttondown at the thrift store, both in super-crisp condition. I'm wearing black warmup pants, and this is the first time I've used a medical binder instead of my usual methods of binding (waist-cincher/sports bra/ace bandages), and I love how smooth it worked under this outfit. I used a bat I bought for Haruko cosplay, and borrowed umi-kun's Yosuke wig from P4. Eventually, I might do his season 3 outfit.

This group was way too much fun! So low-key, and Diva wouldn't stop coming after me demanding I be her chevalier. Loved getting to be super over-protective big brother to my lovely Saya, and alongside Irene, as well. :) Photos by Josh Harmon and Autumn Wheelock!
