Kingdom Hearts II

My first self-made costume! Since I'm still learning my way around my sewing machine, I had to enlist the help of my friend Rah to help me put it together.
I bought about half a yard of vinyl from Joann's and cut it in to strips. Originally, I wanted to sew the seam inside, but the belt pieces were too narrow to turn inside out. Luckily, they still turned out really well after trimming the edges. I cut the belt into four pieces: two for the front and back, and two for the sides. The front and back pieces were sewed around the rectangle rings (which I had to spray paint silver since Joann's was out of the silver at the time). I attached heavy duty nickle snaps to the side pieces to fasten around the other side of the rectangle rings like Kairi's do. Then I cut out the belt pouch, sewed it together on the inside and put the snaps on it. I also added snaps to the back to attach it to the strap at my hip. The belt pouch strap is still a little long, so I plan to shorten it sometime in the future, and attach a third snap to secure it since I ran out before.
I was really picky with these since I'd been disappointed by a good number of cosplayers whose wonderful Kairi cosplays had used pink converse, but I also understand how hard it is to do.
I bought a pair of ten dollar Miley Cyrus canvas hightops from Walmart and sewed lavender broad cloth over the shoes and then painted the white boarder and detail, as well as using acrylic for the black soles. Unfortunately, acrylic comes off rather easily, so at some point I'm going to pick up some paint sealer and see if that helps.
For this, I studied a lot of other keyblades and a lot of reference pictures to get the design I wanted. I chose to sculpt the flowers instead of getting fake flowers simply because while I was at school for the fall, Model Magic was easier to come by. I also sculpted duplicates of all the flowers in order to make the design double sided.
The rod I used was just a dowel I picked up from Michael's. The handles are made from foam board, covered in masking tape and hand painted. For the vine, I just picked up some copper floral wire, sculpted leaves and attached them, and then painted the wire and leaves the same color of gold. The end of the keyblade was particularly difficult since you never really get a good shot of it, so I used typhoidmary's keyblade, on deviantArt, as a reference: http://typhoidmary.deviantart.com/art/KHII-Kairi-Flower-Keyblade-66822771
I sculpted the nub out of Model Magic and painted it accordingly before attaching a loop of wire for the paupu charm to hang from.
