Admiral Moofingham

Pirate Captain in honour of POTC4

Dressing like a pirate is honestly, just a lot of fun. There's so many kinds of looks you can go with, and it gives to an actual excuse to speak in an awful pirate voice the entire time. This outfit was created, in order to see POTC:Stranger Tides in style. A group of us ladies assembled our best pirate gear and travelled to the tiny theatre in Kinmount and proceeded to be gawked at by patrons. We enjoyed it. ^^;;

This costume was made using a mixture of purchased garmets, and some self constructed pieces. My blouse and pantaloons are from dresslikeapirate.com, the belt from winners, the vest and boots from the Bay.

My necklace however, was homemade, strung together by my always awesome jewelry creator theorignalashley, made from glass beads, seashells and a large silver seahorse.

My hat, which is my pirate pride and joy was originally a black sun hat I purchased from the Bay, and then tacked into the tricorn shape, trimmed with lace and braiding, crowned with an ostrich feather, and adorned with a medallion with more beads, charms and two parrot feathers lovingly swiped from the stash at work. (I believe they are Pionus feathers, but I can't recall for sure.)

The result? Pleasant. I enjoyed wearing it, and felt that it looked rather quite good. But dear GODS I have NEVER worn so much lace in my life. Lace on me vest, lace on me blouse. Pantaloons? Lace. Hat? Lace? Belt? Why, yes, lace! Thighighs? Well, if you are going to go all the way, might as well have lace on those too.

Avast me heartie, and all that good stuff.
