When I discovered Freddie for a Day was on the last day of Dragon*Con I decided I had to do it. So I went as Freddie from Live Aid. I figure it's the easiest of his to put together right now.
The tank top was a really easy find. It was only a few bucks at Meijer. The trick was making sure it was a racerback, which is what he wore. This is where it'll be off, for now. I have skinny jeans, but they're a dark blue instead of the almost white Freddie wears. If I decide to make this a more permanent part of my wardrobe, Iíll look into finding faded skinny jeans. Thatís not going to be easy.
The belt wasnít as easy to find as I thought. It doesnít have the three solid rows like most studded belts. As far as I can see it has grommets all the way around in the center. So I found something thatís close enough on Amazon. I also spent more on this than I planned because I can also use it for Death. I got the white Olga style Mossimo Supply Co. shoes from Target. They're white canvas shoes. I think they're going to be perfect! And they were only $9. I'm going to add some ribbon to the sides so they look more like the Adidas shoes he wears so much.
One of the most iconic things about Freddie, aside from his amazing voice, is his microphone stand. Luckily the music director at church is more than happy to loan me part of a stand and a microphone to complete Freddie. I gave in and got a moustache. Itís real human hair and is on lace. I have to do just a little trimming to get it the right length and shape, but itís going to be perfect. I figure itís one thing that will really scream Freddie. It'll also be fun messing with people since I don't plan to bind.
