Military Scout

Her Majesty's Dogs

Last Updated: 07-17-2011

First real Steampunk outfit, made as a companion piece to Captain Jack K's military waistcoat. He made the waistcoat in a similar style to his own: the lines of the tails were made slimmer and moved to accommodate the bustle, darts were added to the waist to add curves and accentuate the bustline, lace and satin trims, and the breast pockets were removed to adjust for the adding of the darts (we were lazy, and never bothered to put them back on >_<). The corset was also handmade of canvas and tooling leather, meaning - this shit is sturdy, boning aside.

The hat is an old service cap from the 40s that I embroidered flowers and petals onto. I decided on a pencil skirt because the silhouette added nicely and it fit was the light 1940s influence. Spats were made to match the skirt, but they are in need of repair (somehow they're gigantic on me).

Character: She is a member of Her Majesty's Dogs and seems to be one of the most out of place. A sweet, very naive, and usually spacey girl, she is the team's scout. Why anyone would let this git go out for hours on her own into enemy territory no one knows; however, she gets shit done, comes back with full status reports, and a story or two about "those nice gentlemen with tea".
