FX Armor assembled from a kit. It has since been disassembled and reassembled, broken, repaired, reworked, and worn-in. I can tell what convention and what year a picture of me was taken at just by seeing the armor and its ever-changing variations.
The helmet is empty; no amplifiers, fans, batteries, or even helmet-liner. Just some foam padding that isn't secured into place. No bells and whistles, but it's helluva lot lighter than most other helmets. Because of this I wear my helmet on a lot more, with the exceptions of when I'm taking a picture of someone, or in an extended conversation with someone.
Unlike most rigs I've seen, I have both a "t-shirt" mod and a "pants" mod. That is to say that the bicep-pieces hang by strapping from the shoulder pieces and the calf-pieces hang from the thigh-pieces, instead of being secured separately.
I can suit up in the armor very quickly, I can descend stairs, ascend stairs slowly, walk, jog, carefully and slowly sit, and stand.
I cannot crouch, kneel, run, swim, or jump over things in the armor, largely due to my uncut cod/ab piece which prevents me bending at the waist.
I haven't tried climbing a ladder in it yet.
The armor is comfortable enough to wear, but for periods over seven or eight hours, the rubbing of the edges of the calf-pieces at the back of my knees has me limping slightly. Because of the way my armor is arranged, the weight of the shoulder-pieces, bicep-pieces, upper-torso, back/butt, and ab/cod pieces is all supported by my suspender-straps and can have my neck and shoulders pretty sore when I've been in armor for too long.
The armor is loud, and clanks when I walk at any speed, mostly due to the hanging "drop-boxes" from my belt.
I typically walk in armor without the FX armor O2 cylinder on the back of the belt, because it's been lost before and I'd rather not lose it for good.
I have the more canon bubble lenses, which distort vision only slightly. Field of vision is good for just about everything except the ground in front of my feet to about two feet forward, which I have to lean/bend forward to see.
Beneath the armor I wear black. Most of the time I use skintight under armor, but on a particular march through sleet I found black sweatpants and sweatshirt much more endurable.
