This is probably the most elaborate cosplay I've done to date!
The coat is made of a cotton-lycra blend with blue ribbon sewn on for the designs, with the exception of the Scorpio sign which is embroidered. The skirt is actually very full so it billows a bit when I walk! It closes in the back with 43 black buttons all the way down (with a few undone to work around the wings). I made the button tape myself out of black bias tape and thin black ribbon.
The skirt is made with a layer of black fabric as a circle underskirt, with a layer of navy sheer fabric over it embroidered with the spiderweb pattern. The white trim on the bottom of the overskirt is white elastic.
The leggings, shoes, gloves, and wig are all bought or borrowed.
The horns are made out of flower arrangement foam shaped with a knife and sandpaper, then covered with several layers of wood glue. I then painted them with a layer of white acrylic, then the colors, and then sprayed with gloss to make them shine. I then glued black fabric to the base and drove a screw into the horn to loop wire around so I could attach it to a thin black headband. The wire was then glued and covered with black cloth to blend into the wig.
The wings are made with a wire frame and stretched with chiffon then sprayed blue. I cut the designs out of a second layer of chiffon, sprayed it blue, and spray-glued it down. The wings are attached to a strip of aluminum slotted into a halved pvc pipe duct taped to a panel of wood (the panel is covered in duct tape to add padding for my back). The panel is then held in place with a corset.
The makeup is Aquacolor for the grey, with blue lipstick, false eyelashes, eyeliner, and eyeshadow for extra color.
The sword is made of foamboard with several strips of aluminum inside it for support, all held together with wood glue. It is then paper mache'd, sandpapered, painted, and covered with a layer of mod podge to give it some shine. It's very light and sturdy!
