Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Oh Ghost Trick, you amazing game you.

As HUGE Ace Attorney fans, Solstice Wind and I agreed to pick up Ghost Trick as soon as it was released. He played first and finished within two days. I knew we would both like it, but was shocked when Solstice Wind said he actually enjoyed it a bit -more- than Ace Attorney. If he loved it THAT much I knew I had to play.

...and I couldn't have loved it more. I ended up finishing in a day or two myself and teared up during the last chapter like a baby. Everything was so well executed and the ending twist hit me by surprise- and hard.

I immediately text messaged both Solstice Wind and Rinchansflower, still overwhelmed by the game. We gushed and realized it was inevitable; it was time to start working on Ghost Trick costumes.

ALSO! Please let it be known that I DID NOT make my yellow jacket (although I did mildly alter and refit it.) My amazing friend Rinchansflower (our Kamila) made it for me in a matter of days and did an -incredible- job. I don't think I'd have been able to cosplay Lynne without her.

I made the dress by altering the tunic pattern I used for June, and scribbled up a pattern for the collar on newspaper. The toy badge is a spray painted one from the dollar store and the belt is made from fabric and sculpey. The boots were bought on ebay and altered to have the chevron tops and dual stripes. The base wig was purchased from Arda then styled as best I could. Finally, I whipped up a "black cat" plushie the day before Otakon because I thought it would be a nice touch (and nod to those who have finished the game.)

If you have played the Ace Attorney or Professor Layton games and enjoyed them- please give Ghost Trick a try. Trust me when I say you won't be disappointed.
