I saw so many of these at Dragon*Con 2010. I absolutely loved them....I couldn't stop myself. Before I knew it I already bought fabric.

See my concept art here:

I was featured on! Yeeeahhh!

Costume Breakdown:

Headband: Pink LEDs and lots of wireing. It's powered by 3 watch batteries at the base of my headband. The ears are plastic shot glasses I bought at the dollar store. Lightly sprayed with silver paint so that the light will catch and travel better.

Skirt: I have a total of 28 half spheres on my dress. I also made mine into panels so that I could sit. Think Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon. There is also a fluffy tutu-esk skirt under it. With some sheer layers :) The belt itself is pleather covered in fabric to give it strength. Same with the pockets and accents. This entire skirt was pretty heavy. I used 3 industrial sized snaps to hold this puppy on.
-This blog has a fabulous tutorial on how she made her dress. She shows her process on prepping the spheres and how to get them to hold.

Top: Wanted something pink and obnoxious. haha. I used a Simplicity pattern for a bodice and sewed on the Giselle like arm sashes.

Wig: I wore this at Dragon*Con 2011 in 2 different wigs. First night I wore my blonde Barbie wig and the 2nd night I wore my pink Haruko wig. The pink one is definitely more comfy. :) But...I think the blonde one photographs better.

Plunger: If you want to paint a plunger...sand it first! I learned this the hard way. The paint will chip. After the paint job I used sticky on rhinestones I bought at Michaels. They held up pretty well. I think maybe 4 fell off after the weekend.

Costume Cost: $90 (most of my materials were purchased a year ago, this is a rough estimation)
