hrnnnngh I don't think this outfit will ever end. lets see well into our 20 yards of fabric on this one. I chose specific colors that would be more flattering to my skin tone and closer to the art book. the under garments are a cotton linen blend. the skirt is a full circle however since I couldn't get the arms to function properly, I took a page from En's book to do more of a pleated sleeve.
the sashes over her shoulders with the leaf pattern were first iron on but with a couching embroidery about the edge to bring out a more soft professional look. then I went nuts. I'm slowly knotting texture into the laves to add a bit of a depth. this part may be finished in the year 2203.
the wig. there is three parts SO FAR to this wig. it's not compleated yet. the base wig was pulled back into three points about 3/4ths way back on MY head. this way I would have those points to anchor the wig in to my own hair... WITHOUT the headaches! the back hair loops are simply made by mixing pomade and got2b glued jell together combing them out strait and then over foamy. it holds up... better then I thought. the loops including the ones that wrap arorudn to the frount are sewn onto a felt base with a wonderflex crown, plenty of combs sewn in to keep them anchored to the three points on the base wig/my hair.
the head piece is made from balsa wood and coated in resin then painted. hand carved out with obsessive glee by me I combined them all together on to a wired headband. the head piece sits over the seam where the back hair loops attach to the base wig. the pearls on there are real, b quality but it adds I think a lovely effect. little things like that I obsess over v.V I'm so lame.
btw... the best flowers I found for this cosplay...walmart!
I hope to. watch out.
