So long story short: Nik and Shai had been researching a lot of voodoo stuff for a story they are working on and wanted to do a set of pictures based on the Voodoo Lwa, more precisely, the Ghede Lwa. Those are the rowdier ones that include Barons Samedi, La Croix, Cimitière, Kriminel, and Maman Brigitte (the only female in the bunch and the wife of Samedi). After I read up on them (I studied the history of voodoo years ago, but was rusty) I thought it would be cool to get to use my green contacts since Maman Brigitte is the only Lwa portrayed as a Westerner with green eyes. We managed to take over 300 pictures of the three of us...we failed a lot because we don't seem to know how to be serious. But I felt like I should post a few of the good ones they got of me. Nik did my make-up, and did a wonderful job. The hat I made (my first attempt at a full size top hat that I sorta skipped a few steps in the process) and I'm wearing my corset for my steampunk costume.

Just thought I would make a costume page for this. I would actually like to do it again and update it to make it even cooler, or at least to get better pictures of it.
