So first of all, Ariel has always been my favorite ever since I was a little girl, so of course I had to make her costume eventually, and it was endless fun!
I took a few minor creative liberties just to add some flair to this otherwise simple outfit: the corset has a black floral lace overlay on top of the outer taffeta layer and a sequinned ruffle trim on the bottom edge, and my head eating bow is covered with an outer layer of GLITTERY<3 tulle...come on, why shouldn't a princess sparkle?
All pieces were patterned and sewn by me, save for the corset which was made using a Simplicity pattern. For my first corset, I'm pretty damn proud! And it was way easier than I thought it would be.
The skirt could not be more fun to twirl around in; it's made of two full circle skirts.

I finally found a Sebastian doll, so he will be joining me for my next photoshoot on the beach!
