I'm not big World of Warcraft fan but my good cosplay friends encouraged me to try cosplaying Ysera as apart of their group. In the end my friends couldn't make it and i performed alone.
Ysera was great opportunity to try new techniques for me. I learnt how to cast gems, light them up and finally how to add my armor 3D effect. I used alot of diffrent materials - starting from simple EVA foam to wonderflex, expanding foam, paper mache, plastic... Quite fun for props lover like me :)
The base of armor pieces was mostly foam with 1mm craft foam scales glued to it. Then some paint, shades and silver finishings. The bra piece i made of mannequin.
Each of the gemstone was lighted up with LED - the same goes for my shoulders, within the green balls. Shoulders exactly were made from foam ball, eva foam and lots of paper mache with gesso. (God, no more sanding, please!)Moslty i was insired by Kamui's tutorial which you can find in her gallery, be sure to check it!
Body paint was horror for me. Unfortunatelly me and my friends didn't know how to work with Aquacolor body paint so the result was quite sloppy. I got sick so bad for being painted for so long that i can't say a word right now!
Soon i hope to fix all crappy parts and take part in group presentation with my friends.
