I must admit that this is the best cosplay've made til september 2011, because even if it didnít require many sewing skills Iíve been quite demanding on every detail. The crazy thing is that Yoko is not one of those characters in wich i see myself: in fact I would reeeaaally like to cosplay Kamina BUT, you see, iím not a boy *SAD LOL* and I was supposed to make a HUGE cosplay group with my friends but Ė you see Ė the all abandoned me T__T (so I was kinda an angry -----SPOOOOOIIIILEEEEERR post-Kamina-mortem Yoko (latin could have saved you if you have been so brave to read despite the spoiler warning------SPOOOOIIIIILEEEEERR!!! Fortunately I found Kamina, Simon and Nia at the con and we had some great photos *awesome*)
Anyway I was very determined in doing a well-done cosplay.
It wasnít so simple as it could show: when I started making this cosplay I saw pictures of every Yoko cosplayer in the world to see what were the mistakes I didít want to repeat: I KNOW THIS IS MADNESS. (believe me, Yoko cosplayers are so many :o)
I wanted to make things as realistic as possible while keeping their ďanime-lookĒ; hair sticks are painted in a wood-yellow color, the skull hairpin is made of DAS, the cowl (pure love <3) is made of a kind of wool/cotton fabric (I canít even remember its italian name) and velvet dark red ribbon, padded with wadding to shape it, and doesnít have any zip.
The Bra is fabric-painted. I also added the 6 red beads at the end but Iín not sure if any of the few pictures show that. Gloves are modified and the shackles are lined with the same fabric, buttons are golden and hot glued on the shackles.
The hot pants are cut from long stretch pleather leggins. This one belt is actually the union of three belts (one for the studs, one for the white basic pleather belt, one for the metallic buckle).
Pale pink stockings are cut (theyíre supposed to be worn by 12 years old babies LOL).
Boots are cut to make them shorter, painted in fabric paintig, modified with a grey large zip AND modified properly because they actually had a platform and not the right heel. I cut the platform on my own. IT WAS AWFUL, but i got the right result XD
The gun was my first weapon ever! So nothing special at all! I bought a long wood stick, a short pvc pipe and recycled a lot of materials: most of the parts are just cut carton or plastic bottles covered with sticky tape and all painted with acrylic in a dark grey/blue color (I tried to use a metallic professional color but it was too much blue and it stank a lot :S). However i payed attention to proportions due to the fact that I made almost all of the single parts of the rifle.
These are all photos my best friend took me, but actually iím hating the cosplay.com limits because theyíre all HQ and low quality doesnít make them justice!!
Love you if you went throu all the text, poor you.
