The Doctor

Tuxedo

Doctor Who

Last Updated: 08-25-2012

My first attempt at being The Doctor was doing the tux. It failed miserably, as least I think so. I figured I should give it another go.

The wig is from a friend. I dyed it with FW inks to darken it. It's crimped at the roots so it makes it much easier to style up. :)

The tux is not actually a tux. I got a tux jacket and black pants from Goodwill. They had a couple of tuxes, but they were way too big for me.
For it's first outing I'm going for the Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel look and wear a simple dress shirt.
I also found a tux shirt at Goodwill. It's got the right collar (laydown) and even needs cufflinks! So now I just need to save up to get the London Cufflinks from Magnoli Clothiers to be able to do the dressier look too. Yay!

I'm going to reuse my bow tie from the first attempt. It's close enough in size and will look great untied. ;)
The Chucks are also from the first attempt. I've been wearing them as regular shoes in the meantime to get them a bit more worn. They look perfect now.

I may have found the best glasses I can online at Zenni Optical. They're model #238625. They're a little light in color, but they'll work just fine. They're the right shape and look very Doctor-y. I'm so relieved.

The Sonic was bought years ago. I can't remember if I got it from Amazon or ThinkGeek. Either way, it's an awesome Sonic.
Thanks to a wonderful person over on The RPF, I have made myself some psychic paper. I was going to use his exact same methods when I realized I could just go down to Goodwill and buy something in leather and dismantle it. Which is what I did. Details are going to be up soon over on my blog, once I get a satisfactory one finished.
