OVERVIEW: My first cosplay ever. I used to be obsessed with Sylphiel--I even had a huge on-line shrine dedicated to her. I've grown out of that, though. ::sweatdrop::

THE TUNIC: I was young and foolish. I went for shiny material, shiny ribbon, and it was a biyotch to make.

THE CAPE: Same deal, only this time I used a yard of really fine quality VELVET. I'm pretty happy with the shoulder pads, they were the best part of this costume!

LEGGINGS: Thrift store!

GLOVES: Claire's. I did sew gold trim on, but they kept slipping down my wrists!

BOOTS: Suede boots I'd had forever.

COMPLAINTS: It was my first costume ever. So... uhm. Yeah. NOT quality. I wonder if it's still lying around somewhere...

CREDITS: My friend Jacque helped me a bit on this, as I helped her with her Priestess Miaka costume. Otakon was my first convention. I didn't feel even a little overwhelmed, but I learned a lot about cosplay, and how to take your time and do all of the accessories. This costume would have benefited strongly from a wig (although I really could have cut and dyed my hair, it was so long :;sobs;: curse you, broken heart! Why did I ever cut my lovely hair?) and the accessories it was supposed to have. Overall, though, I cannot look back in shame. It was my first time, and that makes it special.
