OVERVIEW: After watching Slayers, I decided on Maze. Although the series was way too long, and disjointed, and often a little perverse, I really liked Mill. Actually, I was a bit like her at that point, shrill and annoying with a touch of cute. I wanted to try out her outfit. No, I don't know why.
THE... OUTFIT: I used this strechy pink material that I LOVE for this. I found it on a clearance rack oh-so-long ago--and I still have some left! Basically, I sewed a skirt with an elastic waistband, sewed two tubes of fabric to criss-cross over it, and there ya go. I sewed on a few extra pieces in the back to prevent it from coming off. And yes, I know I totally did NOT have the body to pull this off. If I'd known then what I know now...
THE JEWELRY: I made this pin as a jewelry project. It's brass, cut out by hand, with a piece of turquoise oh-so-professionally glued to the middle.
THE HAIR: Yes, I got my hair cut specifically this way for the con.
THE COMPLAINTS: I have exactly THREE pictures of this costume. I didn't make the cape, because I was once again not thinking I was going to the convention until about a week before, when I realized I was. :;sigh;: Also, finding out that the character was a hermaphrodite... was a little disturbing. Do your research, and live without regrets, everyone!
FINAL NOTE: I have thought about digging this up, and seeing if it still fits me and all of that. I really do like the design of it, and I'm a bit more... uh, I dunno, notpudgey, then I was at the time of this convention. So, we'll see! (Plus, it was SOOO comfy. I miss the comfyness!)
