Bedridden yukata [anime version]
Hakuōki: Shinsengumi Kitan
Last Updated: 08-19-2014
The anime version of that yukata Okita is seen wearing most times when he is sick, especially often in the later episodes.
Debuted at Desucon 2012 in Lahti, Finland. I was part of a mini Hakuōki group with some of my friends. We had Saitō, Harada, Chizuru and me as Okita. There were some other Hakuōki cosplayers too at the con who were very friendly.
I made this cosplay about 3 days before the con so it is pretty rushed. It is not as good as I'd liked it to be; we ran out of fabric so it's too short (at least considered what would be the ideal kimono length..) and not as wide either. I accidentally cut the lining too short as well.. originally it was too long. I hate lining stuff and I have no clue why I even lined it in the first place because yukata aren't lined. OTL Oh well, it was sort-of-okay to wear and people liked it so not too bad I guess. Although I want to remake this before I wear it to a con again...
In summer 2014 I finally found some good enough violet fabric and remade this cosplay for re-debuting at Desucon 2014 - the same con, two years after its first appearance.
I have cosplayed Sōji Okita at:
2012 • Desucon in Lahti, Finland.
2014 • Desucon in Lahti, Finland. (remake debut)
2014 • Skecon in Skellefteå, Sweden.
