50th Anniversary Outfit
Doctor Who
Last Updated: 12-19-2012
I got the idea a while ago to do this. It was inspired by various pieces of fan art for a 12th Doctor that incorporates something from every previous regeneration. I figure it's a great way to celebrate the anniversary! It's going to be interesting, but a lot of fun. I've gotten support from my fellow Who-vians. One person mentioned it's going to be like 'regeneration bingo'. :) I'll just go through and break it down by regeneration.
One - the monocle. I bought one from the costume store and put it on a 5/8" black ribbon.
Two - a skirt based off of his houndstooth pants.
Three - the Sonic Screwdriver. (I am thinking of keeping an eye out for a shirt that would also echo him, just to add a little more.)
Four - the scarf turned it into an arm-warmer. Well, part of the scarf anyway.
Five - knitted celery. It is such a fun and simple pattern!
Six - the coat made into an umbrella. (It'll be really useful for the parade!)
Seven - question mark vest made into an arm-warmer.
Eight - green velvet shrug, in homage to his coat.
Nine - leather underbust corset. I'm using magnets to add buttons to the front to echo the coat a little more.
Ten - Maroon Converse, brainy specs, blue thigh-high socks that I'm going to paint red pinstripes on. :)
Eleven - bow ties. Bow ties are cool.
I wouldn't be a very good fangirl if I didn't have the TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension In Space) on me somehow. I got the idea to do the bag after I finished my Christmas Invasion Doctor. I noticed how simply sewing the fleece would make it puffy and thought it would be awesome to make little TARDIS iPod covers. I simply took that thought and made it bigger.
In order to be able to wear the bow tie, I need to wear a shirt that buttons the whole way up with a collar. I'm going to take a men's dress shirt I have at home, take off the sleeves, and do some tucking as necessary. Of course that's if I don't find a Three shirt.
