Melty Granite

Shining Wind

Last Updated: 11-04-2012

Strange enough this cosplay has been sitting in my wishlist folder for a few years. The character is from the PSP game Shining Hearts, but i heard that this year there is an anime coming too. Fun! This year Cyclone told me i should do Melty and i decided to just make her for the first upcoming con.

========= CREATION =========

The BIG BAD W... i mean HAT. ^^ I guess this is the new centerpiece of my prized collection of hats. ^^;; Well not hard to be a centerpiece if it's that huge. Anyways i had lots of fun making this and to contrary believe, no it wasn't hard to make at all. It took me about 2 days to make and it took me actually that long because a lot had to be sewn by hand. The hat is made out of chicken wire and loads of fabric.

This is actually a Lulu based dress. It took me quite some time to get the tummy part right. ^^;; I feared the dress would get malformed when i would put the lace in, but after a stressy evening hand sewing them in very carefully (and making my friend nuts while panicking every 2 mins about it) i got a nice result. This is also the first time making a mini-mini petticoat with tulle. ^^;; It was quite fun to make since i didn't have much room to hide it under the real dress.

Another complicated looking one that was made in a day or so. I think the hardest part was getting the horns stand nice and straight without any ugly folds in them. I'm exceptionally proud of Sorbet, because i actually didn't think it would go that well making him. Made out of fabric, leather, crafting foam and 4 teddybears worth of filling.

Have fun ~~
