This gown was completely last minute before the opening of Scarborough Faire. A couple of days before my friends and I had planned to go, I get a text saying, "Do you have a black and gold gown? Because we are all wearing black and gold!" ~facepalm~ So, I dug some fabric out of my Stash and did a mad dash to finish this gown in time.
The fabric was originally green, so I had to dye it black. It took three different dye baths to get it as dark as it is, and I'm still not entirely happy with the outcome, but that's probably going to be as good as it gets. The bodice is lined with gold satin, the same as the undersleeve. Everything for this gown came out of the stash except for the trim on the bodice and sleeves, and the ribbon on the skirt. The lattice work on the skirt was actually inspired by an 1860s fashion plate, so probably not period accurate to the 1500s in any way, but I thought it looked pretty. :)
