My first pair costume with Stolen Valkyrie (SV)! She loves this series and wanted to cosplay Kanbaru Suruga, so I thought I'd join her. We debuted these costumes together at Anime Boston, where they were surprisingly well-received.

Both uniforms are made from kona cotton. We spliced together several different patterns to get everything looking right. The blouses in this series are really weird; I still have no idea how Hitagi's tie is actually attached. The skirts were free-patterned.

I spent a lot more time than I usually do styling and cutting the bangs on my wig, and I think it paid off. Hitagi has such strange bangs; they have volume on the sides and are messy in a very organized sort of way. The base wig is originally from a seller on eBay, and though tangly, it's a great color and was pretty much exactly what I needed.

More than anything, I had a great time wearing these with SV. Next time we're at a con together, I hope we can reprise these costumes.
