Ordon Village Garb

Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess

This was probably my hardest costume yet. (next to Utena being second and Robin 3rd).

I did not use a patten for anything except the pants (which I used a Lord of the Rings pattern for that). Most of the cotton I used for the green sleeve (as well as the latigo leather that goes though the sleeve,),green wrap, and pants, were all from Osnaburg fabric and dyed. The only exception being the shirt, blue wrap (except the trim, it was dyed as well) and the apron (well, parts of it were dyed).

The shirt was emboidered by hand. I made my own pattern using tracing paper, used a korean barbeque stick to poke the holes thought where I would sew, then drawn into the holes using the fabric marker. I did the same thing on the other side except put the pattern reversed and did it.

The bias tape on the shirt was also hand made and dyed as well as hand sewed on the shirt.

The apron was hand sewed as well but it was a pain. I used courdory fabric (because in the reference, there were lines in the triangles of the apron) but it frayed like crazy when I cut out the pieces so I had to baste it on the machine, and then hand sewed it. The leaf edges were embroideried by hand.

The belt, pouch, and the shoes were made with leather. The pouch was sewed on the machine. The belt that attaches to the sleeve was dyed with economic dye from Hobby Lobby (by painting it on) and the buttons were hammered down into the leather. The shoes were the hardest. I had to sew the pieces together with senyu thread and used leather glue to glue them with after sewn on.

The slingshot I already had. I found it already like that when I was 8 when I went to Pigeon Forge, Tennesee in the woods. I just shaped it better and painted it and added a sling tied to rope. (would have used elastic but I didn't want con security running at me)

Originally I had a Wisp wig for it but it dyed and I'll have a new one from Arda Wigs (Jaguar Sandy Brown). Its styled much better so I'll be wearing that to my next con.

I don't have the sword for it yet but I'll probably be making one/have my uncle make one and/or help me on it when it gets warmer weather. Thats why its only 80 percent right now.

I just hope the hard work paid off.
