Robin/Dick Grayson

Batman

I feel kind of so-so about this costume. It was my first time doing major modifications and sewing stretchy fabric and I also rushed on it a bit so that my friend and I could cosplay to The Dark Knight Rises premier, so it doesn't look as good as I hoped it would. I might remake the bodysuit someday because that is what I'm most unhappy with. But I really like being Robin and he's such a fun character to cosplay. Oh, and about half of this costume is held together with hot glue. XP

Suit: I started with 2 zentai suits that I bought from ebay in red and black. I then cut out the corresponding pieces of each suit and sewed them together (with MUCH help from my sister). I put a strip of black ribbon down the center, then cut out strips of yellow vinyl for his stripe thingies. The emblem is a circle of yellow vinyl that I painted with black acrylic paint and sealed with mod podge.

Cape: In progress

Gloves: I cut the sleeves off my black zentai suit and added craft foam for the accents

Boots: In progress

Belt: The belt and pouches are made of yellow vinyl and the buckle (?) things are made of foamboard and acrylic paint, all held together with PVC glue. I really don't like the look of the pouches (they are too big for my tastes), but I don't have enough fabric to remake them. If I ever find more yellow vinyl at a cheap price I think I'll try to redo them, but for now I'll stick with these.

Mask: Using 2 crafts masks, I sandwiched a piece of hot craft foam between them to form it, cut it to shape, sealed with mod podge, and added white stretchy fabric behind the eyes.

Wig: Derek in Black from Arda Wigs
