Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan

The baby of the Shinsengumi! I adore this boy to pieces. I seem to always fall in love with the most adorable one.
I already owned the pants, and I bought the boots from ebay. I also found the white shirt from Salvation Army and the gloves at Party City (which I then cut the ends off of), so huzzah!
Otherwise, the vest is made from scratch from black cotton sateen. I used a vest pattern from Simplicity and then had to do quite a lot of fitting to it to make it fit my body (silly big men's patterns). I made buttonholes via my sewing machine (it's a lot of fun and super easy!) and then sewed the buttons on. Piece of cake.
The yellow wrap is just a long piece of yellow fabric. The purple thing (I call it a butt wrap) is white cotton sateen that I gradient dyed light purple to darker purple. I painted on the flowers/snowflakes/whatever you want to call them by hand.
I owned a bokken from my days in my school's sword team, so I took a tsuba from my old short sword, put it on my bokken, painted the blade, and did a tsukamaki wrapping with brown fabric ribbon. It's not super pretty, but it works. It also occasionally comes undone, which reminds me why we never had the wrappings on the swords at sword team.
Rasetsu version wig is my Shion wig.
