I've always liked the design of the nun habit, and seeing the potential of fluffiness in those skirts, I just had to make it.
constructed with twill using a pattern I drafted myself; all the seams are either french seams or finished with an overlock stitch in places that couldn't take any bulk.
I made my own bias tape, and the front panel snaps completely on and off. Grommets are set in the sleeves and along the front slits. The wimple is mounted on a headband which slips into the netting of my wig.
My petticoat is two-layered, both of which are hand painted with 3d fabric paint. Supported by two white knee-length tulle petticoats.
All made with craft foam with the exception of my rosary, the cross at my neck, and earrings, which are sculpey over a wire frame.
I made a mini tutorial of my foam technique here: http://www.facebook.com/media/albums/?id=318507278226362
The gun holster is silver pleather, which I made, weathered, and set studs/snaps/grommets in. It crisscrosses in the back and snaps together at the shoulders so it's easy to put on.
I also made bloomers of matching white twill, which my thigh holster attaches to.
Small gun: Goes in her shoulder holster; bought a toy gun and rub n' buffed it.
Big gun: Goes in her thigh holster; Foam board, craft foam, and cardstock on top of a toy gun base.
