Seasons 19 & 20

I LOVE the Fifth Doctor. And Peter Davison in general. <3 A friend online encouraged me to watch Classic Who, starting with Five (though I did dabble a bit with one episode with every Doctor first before heading into one Series/Season). I was not disappointed at all when I first saw Five in 2007's "Time Crash" special and that's what got me into watching his serials in the first place.
Five is MY Doctor, but he's also a Doctor I could realte to: he was always kind and polite, and always put the lives of others ahead of his own. But he was sometimes timid and tended to follow rather than lead on the odd occasion, along with being faced with some serious decisions - one of them costing one of his companion's lives in "Earthshock". This one decision haunted him until his regeneration in "The Caves of Androzani"; quite possibly one, if not, THE best regeneration/Doctor Who story in the history of the show's run.
He was the first of the 'modern' Doctors, and with that came a very plain-looking outfit that was similar to an Edwardian cricket uniform. There was always a certain charm that the outfit brought to the series, especially in the episode "Black Orchid" when the Doctor actually gets to play cricket! And you've got to love that celery. (Five was the only one who could pull off a decorative vegetable). The Big Finish audio dramas really solidified my love for this Doctor even more, and gave me motivation to put together an accurate crossplay of my favorite [Classic] Doctor.
-WIG - Ordered from CosplayWig.com. Chopped a lot of it off to give it that boyish look.
-JACKET - Modified from a labcoat. Dyed with Dylon in Reindeer Beige. Added single fold red bias tape for the lineing and pocket flaps. (Extra fabric was taken from the coat after hemming it.)
-SHIRT -I already owned a men's white dress shirt from a previous cosplay. I handstitched the lining and embroidered the question marks myself (and as a first time embroiderer, it doesn't look that bad!)
-JUMPER - Originally ordered one off of eBay, but comissioned a screen accurate one from honorarydoctor off of LJ last September.
-PANTS - Ordered Laughing Moon pants pattern off of eBay. Fabric ordered from Spoonflower.com. NEVER AGAIN will I underestimate pants, especially when I had to handsew it the night before the con. UGH.
-SHOES - Bought a pair of white Converse on sale at Detox.
-HAT - Bought a used, but official Panama hat from a LJ seller (honorarydoctor). Hatband was replaced and painted by hand.
-CELERY - Made from Model Magic, acrylic paint and gloss, hot glue and fake flower leaves cut into a similar shape as celery leaves.
-HALF MOON GLASSES - Ordered a passable costume pair off of eBay.
TOTAL : $300 (CAD.)
