Edo gambler (original design)
Final Fantasy VI

Costume-Con's Single Pattern Contest this year included a kimono, which was a great excuse for my husband to make this costume he's been wanting to make for years. I helped him with some of the difficult stuff, but he did most of this on his own.
The idea was to take a gambler from the Edo period and combine that look with Setzer from Final Fantasy VI. There are lots of little references to modern gambling in the costume including dice prayer beads and a card pip mon.
