Final Fantasy VIII

This is my 2.0 version of Rinoa. Though seriously I've been cosplaying her since like 2004 or something, so this is probably version 7 or something. But I digress!
Everything about this cosplay is completely new and redone, and hand made!
Wig - I bought the same wig I used for my 2011 version of Rinoa, the Alicia XL by New Look. It's one of my favorite wig lines and extremely realistic. As you can probably tell the styling is so much better on this one compared to my first attempt last year.
All of it was painstakingly cut and styled by hand. ( I also do Wig commissions, contact me if interested! )
For the Hilights I did something new,r ather than sewing them in directly. I created little clip in hilights. Unfortunately I didn't have time to play around with the placement, but they turned out pretty good!
Duster / Arm warmers - I bought like 6 yards of goddess boutique deluxe rib-knit fabric. At first I wasn't fond of how dark the blue was, but it grew on me a lot. This was my first time trying to make the duster from scratch, and I seriously made this within 8 hours before con. It was hell. White wings are also hand painted on the back.
But so worth it. I used my old Rinoa duster as a base and my friend helped me make the pattern.
Tanktop - I found this at a thrift store, the fabric and cut was perfect. Unfortunately the V neck doesn't show up on my chest, even without a bra. I unfortunately realized that that when I do wear a bra with it, it turns the shirt lopsided. Sigh. I wish I would've tested it more before con, a lot of pictures have that issue and I hate it.
Oh well! I already got a new V-neck tanktop for my 2.1 and it has a built in bra, so WOO.
Shorts - These turned out a little too short for my liking and I keep having the same problem with all of my Rinoa shorts, where they ride too high, or scrunch/bunch because of the zippers. I'll be remaking these for 2.1 as well.
Boots - I found a look alike pair on ebay, and then I bought two silver square buckles. I super glued the buckles to spandex straps which tie around the boots securely and are removable.
Necklace - The really beautiful shiny one is real silver, which my boyfriend ( who also cosplays Squall ) got me for our one year anniversary this year. c': So i am officially set for life on the necklace! The one that is copperish is my old one that got worn with age.
Arm Ribbon - Black spandex tied into a bow so it stays secure!
Pinwheel - Wood + PVC pipe. It's my old silver one that my friend made for me, which I modded. I'll be making a new one. But I painted white PVC pipe, connected them, built the box mount and then repainted the pinwheel and attached it on there.
