Tailor Shop on Enbizaka - Kayo Sudou (Stalker)
Last Updated: 07-12-2012
It may have taken about 3 months to actually finish it, though I've been planning it since December last year.
The kimono is made out of red polyester taffetat, with mustard-yellow satin lining in sleeves and red lining in the rest of the garment. Made according to Simplicity's pattern which I do have some regrets about in the end xD I missed out on the fold underneath the obi, unfortunately.
There's interfacing in the collar. The green - and also a white that isn't visible here - collar was made separately and then sewn on, to spare me from wearing three kimonos on top of each other.
The obi was made from a green polyester brocade fabric with green cotton lining. The cord around it was a regular decoration cord found in a regular fabric store. There's corset boning hidden in the back to prevent the obi from folding. Pattern constructed by me.
The shoes are regular straw sandals bought at a street market in Thailand. The straps were fitted with covers made from red stretch velvet. The tabi socks were made from white jersey. Pattern constructed by me. Definitely the most comfortable pair of socks that I own.
The kanzashis - hairpins on the sides of my head - are made of yellow satin, pink satin and green tulle. 27 separate pieces are folded and sewn together to make one of these pins.
The one that is on top of my head is made from yellow satin, white taffeta, pink satin, green polyester brocade, yellow yarn, two red-finished sticks, green and yellow clay pearls and a little Styrofoam board for backing up.
Scissors were made from cardboard, covered with plaster and finished with silver paint, black paint, PVC varnish and some silvery glitter to give a sharp look on stage :3
The makeup was based off Michelle Phan's Hatsune Miku tutorial ([link])and then modified to fit my needs. It turned out awesome :'D
