Angel Transformation

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt

Last Updated: 11-05-2012

I had so much fun working on this cosplay! I made everything for this cosplay with the exception of the wig, which I styled, and the sword, which was made by my sister Alycenwonderland.

Dress: The dress is made of a low sheen satin in both white and blue, silver PVC vinyl, and platinum organza. The midriff features 1/4 inch spiral steel boning to help it conform to the shape of my body as well as maintain nice, clean lines. All seems are serged and fray checked.

Gloves and Stockings: The gloves and stockings are both made from cotton lycra. While the stockings have elastic in the top, I used fashion tape as extra security to have them adhere to my legs. I tried to emulate the fit of Stocking's stockings as best as possible, as they are tight fitting through the calf and are baggy around the ankles.

Petticoat: The petticoat is made from powder blue tulle and is comprised of seven 3-tier layers! All seams are serged. This thing took many many hours to make, but I'm very happy with the result!

Wings: The wings are made from craft foam and spray adhesive, and are supported by 12 gauge wire.

Shoes: I ordered a pair of strappy silver heels off ebay and modified them using silver PVC vinyl to be more true to character. Man, do these things begin to hurt after about 2 hours of wear!

Sword: My sister made this amazing sword out of insulation foam, plywood, and clay, and finished it off with paints and polycrylic. I love how cartoon-y and thick the blade is, and how it flares at the end for a very dramatic silhouette!

Makeup: I spent quite a while researching Gothic Lolita makeup and style so that I could capture this aesthetic as best as a non-Lolita could! Makeup is by Bobbi Brown (my daily staple) with both upper and lower false eyelashes to give my eyes that dramatic pop. I opted to keep the rest of my face very simple. Nailpolish colour is by Essie.
