I drafted my own pattern for the top and aside from a few adjustments I need to make, it was very easy to put together. The pleated skirt was quick and easy, too. The difficult part? The gold pieces and the hearts!

For the hearts, I put model magic in a mold I had handy (thank you, Valentine's day M&M cases!). I covered the heart with paper mache, sanded the crap out of it, painted it, and poured a mix of mod podge, finishing glaze, and shiny powder over top for a finish.
For the gold jewelry, I took stretchy gold vinyl and sewed it wrong sides out into craft foam pieces I cut out. I took it out and put it back on right side out.

I just wore a petticoat underneath and used gold vinyl strips for the criss-cross bits. Just slapped on some fashion tape and they stayed on great!
