Materials: Jersey, stretch cotton, lining, interfacing, poly-fill, fur, leather, fleece, resin.
So all of the pink is jersey that I dyed. The white is stretch cotton with lining. The pants are drawstring. The shirt is a tunic style, but with puffed sleeves (using elastic at the base). The wrist bands are jersey with interfacing. The gems are held on by sewing in some craft foam and then gluing them to the foam for a stronger bond.
My very first foxtail! This was actually all white and I had to do some major Googling to figure out how to dye it and make one from the stack of fur I had. Itís actually pretty simple. You sketch out a kidney shape, cut out 2 pieces of fur, sew all but one side, flip it inside out, and close the seam.
The collar is stretch cotton, with a fleece lining. The fleece helped give it stability without me having to compromise shape and ease of putting it on. The pink parts are filled with poly-fill and the gem is resin. Not the best gem in the world, but Iíll take it. I was having major issues with resin.
The cape is also stretch cotton with fancy lining. It attaches to the shirt, not the collar, by heavy weight snaps.
The wig is from Arda with wefts. I picked a short hair style and had to add in extra wefts to cover up the inevitable bald-spots that would occur from styling. I made a template from craft foam to act as my guide during cutting and styling.
This is just a fun costume that I wanted to make as a counter part to my boyfriend. ^^
