CLOAK
I used 7 yards of a beautiful deep red Silk Matka (alternatively called Silk Noil, or Raw Silk) that I found in the Fabric district. I was originally leaning towards wools, but none of the wools were the right shade until we happened upon this silk. The base pattern is drafted off of the pattern in Costume Close-up, though I blew up the hood to be larger then in the base pattern.
DRESS
I used pattern #2 from the Northern Society of Costume Textiles. The Medium Pink on the Sleeves and the Main skirt is a Silk/Wool Blend. The light pink and the dark red pink are a Superfine Wool Gabardine, all three fabrics were ordered from the New York Fashion Fabrics Club.
STRUCTURAL GARMENTS
The stays are drafted from the Diderot Stays pattern. They are boned with plastic zip-ties, and made from a layer of cotton duck sandwiched between bottomweight white linen, and a quilting cotton. All the binding is hand sewn on. The chemise is drafted off several tutorials found online out of cotton.
I'm also wearing two linen-poly blend petticoats made following the 'Fashionable Frolick' tutorial of 18th century petticoats.
WIG
I have an unstyled Matilda in Dark Brown that I will be using for Belle.
