I decided a while back I needed to replace Akane's uniform. My original one isn't really up to my current standards, and I wanted a lighter weight version with a matching jacket.

I used rayon gabardine for the dress and jacket. The dress pattern was slightly refined from my original version, with a better fit and real waist ties (vs. a false bow and snaps). As with the first one, the bodice back is based on the manga. Overall it's much more comfortable and flowy, better suited to all seasons. The jacket is based off the commercial pattern I used for Hikaru (Magic Knight Rayearth), with small alterations.

The winter blouse (long sleeves) is cotton stretch sateen. It's a heavier weight fabric, meant to be warm enough for cold-weather photoshoots. The pattern was very loosely based on the previous blouse. I added a fully buttoned front and very full sleeves.

In addition to my usual props--P-chan plushie, bucket, school bag--I'm working on an oversized mallet. The head is actually hollow (made from 2 garbage cans!) and can be used to store things. My hammerspace! I'd also like to make a new P-chan plushie.

I've gone through 3 wigs so far for Akane. I'd like to sew the 2 black ones together to make it super thick. I also plan on finishing the summer blouse (short sleeves) this winter; it'd to be made from lightweight poplin for comfort during the hot months.
