I've always wanted to make a Cinderella costume, so this spring I finally set out in search for the fabric during a trip to the NY garment district. To my surprise, I came out with nearly 6 yards of a heavy light blue polyester satin and 3 yards of cream. I later changed my mind about the cream and purchased white glitter costume satin from JoAnn's for the peplum and sleeves, as well as a light blue sparkle organza as an overlay.
The glass slippers are black character shoes painted over with white leather paint, then coated with silver glitter paint from the same brand.
The skirt is supported with an extra full bridal net petticoat.
