Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Last Updated: 11-06-2012

This was sort of a long project. I started working on this last year and I'm still trying to improve it.

About some of the harder parts of this costume:

Gold Belt - Made with 1.5 inch goggly eyes and craft foam!

Blue Diamond accents - These guys were pretty tough. I used narutokunobsess's tutorial for making a papercraft mold for resin for Fi's diamond on her dress. (http://www.cosplay.com/showpost.php?p=4267313&postcount=2) I did the belt buckle diamond first and found that the paper I used was too flimsy. (80lbs paper I had left over from a school project) So for the dress diamond I used an old folder as the base. This proved a lot better. I also did a lot more layers, probably around 20 or more. I made a couple casts before i was satisfied with the size of the gem.

Goddess Harp - Cardboard base with a cardboard skeleton. Covered with model magic and a layer of paper mache. The strings are fishing wire.

Wig - Wig styling isn't really my forte. After a couple failed attempts, I got extra wefts and added them to the front hair pieces. I used foam hair curlers to bulk up the pieces even more. I wrapped the wig fiber around the curlers and secured it with a few rubber bands. The back I wasn't as concerned with so I just folded up the end. (I'm not sure how to describe it) Ribbons are bias tape.
