I needed a Halloween costume that would be warm and yet fun to wear. After much back and forth, I decided on Minnie Mouse. I've made dresses like this before so I knew I could do it.
It took trips to three different fabric stores before I found a fabric that had the correct background colour with WHITE dots. Found every combination but! Arg. Finally found this cotton at a local store which was lucky since I think I was out of time to order it online!
The dress pattern is the "Alice" pattern from McCalls. The bodice is lined. The bias tape was the worst part - I loathe using the smaller width stuff but that's all I had on hand, Probably worked out better anyway!
Bow was patterned out by my friend, sewn by me. Ears and bloomers also made by me.
Shoes came from a previous cosplay (yes, I had yellow high heels!). Gloves are just cheap white ones.
All in all, a really fun costume to wear. The first time I wore her out, I had four little girls nearly go nuts when they saw me. Life is good.
