I loved the simplicity of this costume and decided that I had to make it . . . and then I found out how deceptively simple the design was.

The biggest challenge was adding the pleat at the back. I cut slits in the dress and sewed in two triangular pieces, then ironed it like crazy.

The dress is a modified Simplicity pattern that turned out to be much too big. Even after I took it in, it's still too big (alterations are not my strong point)

The ric rac trim was originally white: I had to use a marker to get it the right colour.

The boots are just biker boots from Lidl, and the tights were a present.
