Marceline the Vampire Queen

It didn't take long for me to fall in love with Adventure Time. it's such a fun, colorful, and hilarious show- how could I not? And Marceline is an amazing character with such a great back story!
It felt strange to me to be wearing such normal clothes, but technically be in costume...the only part of the costume I made is my tights shirt for my arms. =P But I did do some wig work too! The wig is actually two wigs combined- one that was around 40", and the other that was 60". Since I'm so tall (5'9"), I had to try to lengthen the wig as well as thicken it. Although it tangled super easily (which can't be avoided), I'm still happy with it! =)
For our Adventure Time group, we decided to do some original spins on the characters, making the costumes slightly more detailed than they look in the show. Our thoughts were that if you were to take the characters out of the show and put them in real life, everything about them would be much more detailed- their face, their hair, their clothes, etc. So we thought we would try to change some things, while still keeping the original idea intact.
Although I have the base things finished (wig and skin), I am far from being done with Marceline! I plan on making her axe bass over he course of the next couple months, and I want to make lots of her different outfits! We have many more photos (and characters!) soon to come!!
UPDATE JANUARY 2013: The bass is finished!! My dad and I made it using wood and real bass parts. It's not completely functional, but you can still kinda hear some notes when you pluck the strings! XD haha
