Lord of the Rings

Last Updated: 11-26-2012

This is the 3rd version of this costume to date. The first my boyfriend purchased the Rubies version way back in 2003/2004. Then he purchased the Museum Replicas version in 2005, which I ended up altering to fit him. None of these versions were accurate, and really...sucked LOL. I ended up making the jerkin from scratch this past year.

A friend of our's helped us by making the quiver, arrows and the base to the bow. He also made the belt strap and a few of the quiver straps. I ended up making/tooling my own leather quiver strap. I also sculpted and cold-casted the belt and quiver buckles.

To the bow base I too paperclay and sculpted the filigree designs on to the bow.

The bootwraps are made from scratch as well. The boot bases are flat boots cut down to make ankle boots and then painted with dark olive green and brown paints.

The wig is a lace front that I darkened the roots to with a Prisma Color marker, to make it look more accurate.

The bracers were bases also made by a friend. I darkened the leather and tooled the designs into them. I then inlayed the designs with gold paint.

This costume will forever be in production, as it will take forever to perfect it :P.
