My friends decided to go to a Harry Potter party a few days before it actually happened. Naturally I insisted on wearing a costume, and this is what I came up with.

The costume consists of seven yards (!) of black twill, painted gloves, and a few layers of Casa sheer to hide the face. The pattern's modified from Simplicity 9887, which is about the spiffiest hooded cloak pattern I've ever found ^_^.

Being a dementor is cool XD. Most of the kids at the party loved it (even though most of them thought I was Voldemort). I wish I could show you the pictures I took of "frightening" them, but I don't feel comfortable posting pics of children on the Internet without their parents' permission :).

I made another one of these robes for Robbie, because one dementor is never enough! I'm jealous of his robe because it's made out of a better fabric that doesn't wrinkle as badly as mine ;_;.

My cloak was also worn in the AX04 masquerade by our friend Jason. He was the Random Demon in our Chrno Crusade Infomercial skit.
