Principessa Marissa

I've always wanted to make a Renaissance dress, and I've finally done it! Every year, I always wear faire-inspired street clothes, and this year I said NO MORE!

The black underskirt is a black twill, which was a mistake. I didn't have enough black to make it out of something more lightweight, so I had to go heavy. I might remake it with a thinner fabric.

The sleeves are made out of some new blend material, something like a silky cotton.

The green fabric was what started this all. I saw it in the clearance area, and knew it was the one. It's an awesome lightweight crushed silk blend that has so much awesome dimension to it.

I'm so happy with this, but I need to alter the neckline and remake the gauntlets. I'm finally living a childhood dream! Besides, I've never seen Italian style Renaissance gowns at the faire... I only ever see Tudor or French style. Where's my Italian love!
