Brunhilde costume was my dream cosplay since i saw graphics from Zangeki no Reginliev game. The amount of details, feathery armor and alot of jelwery is totally my thing! Since the level of difficulty in this project is high i decided to prepare it for European Cosplay Gethering 2013 Finals in Paris.
The armor is mix of materials. Mostly i used Worbla, EVA foam, some Wonderflex and resin. I can't count how many shades of silver paint i used in this one! I wanted the colour to be perfect. Each little detail is handmade with resin casting, wire, string and sculpted clay. There is almost 10 diffrent types of ornaments on the each piece, such a crazy design!
For the weapons i had two swords, spear and a shield. Swords are made out of pine wood + PCV covered in red fake leather for the stealth. All details were made out with resin and Worbla. Spear base is PCV tube filled with poliester resin ( for durability) with Worbla pieces such as wings and blade. I made it connected with a huge screw so i could disconnect two parts for transport. Shield is made out of EVA foam and wood. In the front you can see huge resin gemstone which i casted and ligted up with 6 LEDs - they are operated with a program so the light moves and glowes in the magical mood ;)
I am really proud of the all detailed jelwery! Each piece is casted out of poliester resin from custom made molds. This took so much time but each piece is my little baby :) I wanted to give alot of colour and life to this silver-grey armor.
Wig is really tricky too. I spent 2 motnhs looking for perfect colour of the hair, then i ordered two wigs and combined them together into one, thick wig. This way it looks great and really natural!
Body piece is made out of plastic mannequin and altered with EVA foam and Worbla.
The last thing i am really happy with is the helmet - i had to made it out of 5 separate pieces of pattern to make it fit perfectly. It also has resin details and black feathers!
Overall i think it is my most detailed and well constructed costume i've made so far. I am also really happy to tell you that this costume won 1st prize solo at ECG finals 2013!
