Yami Yugi

Yugioh Yami Yuugi Yu-gi-oh

This was one of my first major cosplays where I put a lot of time into it to get every detail right. I made the coat from >scratch< which was hard at first but fun!….turned out great! I also made the black-goth-undershirt from scratch. It’s made from pleather and blue vinyl (layered over it to create that ‘black but blue sheen’ look) and some homemade buckles epoxy-ed on with some nylon straps. It zippers up the back, and it looks Romulan somehow if worn alone….XD;

I made the Ancks on the sleeves to make an homage to classic Yami Yuugi from the manga when he was all ccrraazzyy! They are hollow super-sculpey, spray-painted with chrome paint, and are SUPER light (I mean like each one weighs just a little more than your computer mouse) and still have not broken after 3 years of abuse.

However, the millennium puzzle is not quite so light. XD;; …….it weighs exactly one pound, and that’s not including the chain I keep it on. It’s very strong and is, as I’ve been told my many, “the Real Deal”. It’s a life-size, perfect (If I don’t say so myself…XD) replica.

The pants are bondage pants from Hot Topic, and the shoes are Italian leather business shoes…and I got them at a discount shoe store for like 25 dollars! And they look just like Yami’s.

Then….there’s the Hair. It’s made from that cool pillow foam you can buy in blocks at fabric stores….you can cut it into any shape you like. The whole setup is based around a cat-ears headband….(minus the cat ears…*snip!*) that is put horizontally on my head like a visor so the middle of the yellow bangs is on my forehead. (The yellow bangs have wire in them up until the first bend, the wire is all attached to the headband) There’s a Velcro-skull-cap off of this, attached to a stretchy band at the back where it goes on my head. The big hair has a Velcro strip inside it so it attaches to this skull-cap. It is all VERY stable (too a lot of work to figure this all out o_O ) and works very nicely and is soooo cool looking. Everyone was amazed by the hair! (The colors are spray-painted on. I used masking tape to get the colors only on the edges after doing the middle black)
