In the anime, when he first appears as a Quincy (not as a student) he is wearing a cross on his wrist. I saw a pendant of that cross on eBay so I bought it. At that point, I was pretty much committed to doing the costume.

I only made the jacket. I bought the pants, shoes, and cross mentioned above. I used my own glasses.

I wanted the shoulders to be very structured, like a suit jacket. So the coat is fully interfaced, and almost completely lined (except for the collar, which I left open in order to add the stripe and embroidery on the back).

The "asterisk" on the back is embroidered. No real reason, I just felt like doing it that way instead of appliqueing or painting it on. I like how it looks.
