CHIBIMOON. DOO DOO DOO, CHIBIMOON, DOO DOO DOO.....
I love Chibi-Usa. I love her even more after re-reading the manga as it was released over the past couple of years. I love how much Chibi-Usa grows throughout the series and how she becomes her own strong senshi in time. I also really love the eternal designs and it JUST so happened that my friend Sylphy makes an adorable Eternal Sailor Saturn. We had originally planned to wear these together at Fanime 2013, but alas I had other obligations and couldn't do it. Then I was supposed to do it for 2014, and scheduling just didn't work out... As luck would have it, I was FINALLY able to get the costume done and meet up with Sylphy at Anime Expo 2014 (AKA Sailor Moon Con). As if that weren't amazing enough, ALL of the other 8 girls from her previous Eternal group were going to be there! I never DREAMED I would get to be part of a completed Eternal Senshi group, and never in a million years with 9 such amazing ladies. ;___;
Wig is a Chibi, short wefts, and two (discontinued) one curl clips. I covered styrofoam eggs with the wefts using an altered version of Hezachan's ChibiMoon wig tutorial, adjusting the size of the Chibi and the placement of the ponytails, then attached my hair buns with some wire. Then I used the *straightened* one curl clips to augment the Chibi's ponytails. I had to sew extra wefts into the bangs because they were really thin. :/
For the fuku. I used the Green Pepper skating pattern for the base. I used NyuNyu's patterns for the glove/sleeve rolls, collar, bows, and sleeves. I used instructions from Sparkle Pipsi to do the pleating and gathering of the skirts. The skirts are each two circle skirts, box pleated, with horse hair in the hems. The boots are cut off at the top for the V with satin bias tape for the finishing.
