Made to partner my friend Julie's Chii costume, my Sumomo costume is probably my least favorite to date. It was uncomfortable [except fro the pants], and required much caution to wear.
The top is held up by glue; a brassiere is stitched into the shirt itself. The shirt and pants are connected by knotted string, concealed by the pink sash. The headpiece is a concoction of rolls of fabric, quilt matting, and floral wire. A cheap wig was strung through a hold in the top to make a ponytail; the bottons on the side actually come out like plugs. The headpiece alone weighs over 10 pounds, mostly from the fabric. The design on the sash was achieved by sewing decorative burgandy trim on the pink fabric.
This was the costume I used for the Masquerade.
