If someone asked me which one is my most special cosplay, it'd be this one, no doubt ^^ Tsubasa ~RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE~ is my favourite manga, I even co-own with my boyfriend a big spanish fansite about it and, among many other precious memories attached to it, I'll always treasure the fact that it was TRC that started bringing my boyfriend and I together :3 So it was only natural that, sooner or later, we'd try to impersonate its main characters we love so much. We've received much love with these cosplays, they're easily recognizable and the first time we took them to a big convention we could hardly move inside it because people kept asking us for photos! It was one of the best experiences attached to cosplays I've ever lived *^^* We've also participated in some masquerades with them, all of them very special, and quite recently got an award with one of them, which was like the pinnacle of the history of these cosplays :3 Many people know us for these costumes, we've made many friends thanks to them, and I'll be forever grateful for that!
They were the first couple cosplays from the same series we wore together. The costumes themselves were done with great help and advice from my mother, but unlike past projects, they were the first ones in which we started participating and learning actively about sewing. Specially the squares in my dress and cape were such a pain to make x_x But they looked great when it was finished, so it was worth it! Sakura was also the first cosplay which prompted me to buy a good wig (a New Look Maxine in Strawberry Blonde, maybe today some people would find it "too blonde" for Sakura, but in 2006 they weren't as many reference colors for her hair as today ^^u), but I didn't feel confident enough to cut it those days so I brought it to a hairdresser, who did a beautiful job IMHO ^^ As for minor details, the shoes were Arabic-styled ones I bought, removed all the beading, temporarily removed the soles, covered them with the same white fabric I used in the costume and re-attached the soles. The feather was a regular ostrich one, cut to match the shape of Sakura's memories and spray-painted with a pattern I made myself.
