Love Live

Hat made by BATCosplay. Music note laser cut by Rubica/Laser Blast Laser Craft.

WOW. Yet another Love Live costume that I thought would be way less work than it ended up really being. @_@

For the bow on the hat, neck, and microphone, I Heat'n Bonded two layers of satin together, then Heat'n Bonded gold trim/borders together and then cut it out with a rotary cutter. BAT and I used a heat knife/lighter to melt the edges to keep them from fraying. For the lines on the neck bow, BAT stitched nice little lines with metallic gold thread.

We made all of the gold bias tape from scratch with gold prom dress/special ocassion fabric from JoAnn.

BAT made the earrings. ;D All of the scalloped trims were laser cut by Rubica.

The detached collar was made using a Simplicity pattern and needed no alterations. The string of beads on the collar attaches on either side of the collar with lobster clasps. I used wire so that it would keep the U shape and not droop/weigh down the collar.

The bodice was made using a Butterick pattern and only needed some resizing. I patterned out the white panel on the front, attached the bias tape, then topstitched it directly onto the front of the bodice. The bodice laces up the back.

The two plaids for the skirt were purchased on Spoonflower from Melvinopolis and were printed on the satin fabric. NyuNyu patterned out the skirts and wrote out tutorials for us, each skirt half is a pleated circle skirt. The skirt beads attach via large lobster clasps to either side of the skirt.

Cuffs on the upper arms and on the ankles are JoAnn casa satin that I satin stitched the lines into and then added the bias tape.

I painted the heels of the shoes with gold fabric paint.

Gloves and thigh highs were purchased.
